Volunteer

Jesus Christ gives us the Great Commandment: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37, 39) Our congregation’s vision statement (create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel ) and mission statement (grow together in Christ through prayer, worship and education, and to spread the love of Christ to our community.) echo these words of Jesus. We live out this love for neighbor by reaching out to the community that surrounds us.

You don’t need to know exactly where you want to volunteer, we can help you discover your gifts and talents.

2. Determine your time
How much time and how often are willing to invest in First Lutheran Church
(one-time, once a week, one or more years, etc.).

We will contact you to schedule a time for a volunteer orientation.

4. Complete/review paperwork at orientation
Some jobs may require minimal training to familiarize yourself with the project.

5. Begin Volunteering
Show up!

We will contact you to discuss your areas of interest and your availability so you can begin volunteering.

None. If you have one to two hours each week and know how to have fun; if you have the ability to give your time, talents, and skills, you have what it takes to be a great First Lutheran Church volunteer. 

Yes. For our individual volunteers, the minimum age requirement is 16 years of age. Any volunteer under the age of 18 must be directly supervised by an adult. The minimum age requirement may be waived for families serving together at special events.
