Galatians 5:16 - Flesh is natural power form our sin nature; The spirit: Word & Sacrament fills us by the Grace of God with an alternative life. 1 Corinthians 11:19 - "Genuineness recognized" is not necessarily talking about salutation but the battle within every disciple of flesh vs. spirit (this is seen by how much we love all our neighbors).
